On August 23-28, 2011 The VI World Congress for Psychotherapy was held in Sydney, Australia. Members of psychotherapeutic family from all five continents took part in the Congress.
It was a pleasant surprise that many themes of the Congress were dealt with spirituality and psychotherapy.
…Positive Psychotherapy was introduced by Maxim Goncharov and Yuriy Kravchenko.
Maxim Goncharov, presented two topics: "The analysis of countertransference in Positive Psychotherapy" and "Positive Psychotherapy in the era of globalization."
Yuriy Kravchenko in his speech attracted attention to the application of Positive Psychotherapy in:
- health coaching and public health (in cooperation with Dr. Sakalo).
- the sphere of existential psychotherapy of men (on the basis of Vladimir Karikash ideas).
I am grateful to Maxim for support and participation during my presentations.
I am also grateful to Vladimir Karikash, Elena Sakalo, Anna Mogylnyk and a team of master trainers of Ukrainian Institute of Positive Psychotherapy for their help, inspiration and support in this long journey ..
Unfortunately, members of the Congress had not much knowledge about Positive psychotherapy.
A positive aspect of this is that the reports of Maxim and Yuriy were met with interest and response!
Our colleague from Australia, who was taught by Nossrat Peseschkian in Europe, visited our presentations.
This man was once again impressed by the Positive psychotherapy and method of Peseschkian.
There is no doubt that Nossrat Peseschkian succeed in anticipating trends in the World, in the World of psychotherapy, and in Psychotherapy in all over the World.
Key principles and ideas, that have already been put in positive psychotherapy by Nossrat Peseschkian, only now days emerge as trends in psychotherapy.
This is a cross-cultural approach, search of an integrative platform, holistic view of man, sanogenetic approach, the connection of the rational and emotional parts, spiritual dimension in psychotherapy.
Today all these things are re-opened by colleagues from another methods, but all of these is already exist in positive psychotherapy ..
Practitioners’ and clients’ needs in the ideology, ideas and models of Positive Psychotherapy is very large.
Positive Psychotherapy Potential is huge.
But these are seeds which have to be sown and nurtured.
The next World Congress for Psychotherapy will be held on August 25-29, 2014, in Durban, South Africa.
This will be the next opportunity to share with Human Family values of Positive Psychotherapy and faith in human and Mankind ability to cope with crisis and make their lives better…
